Poland will not give up any of its own F-16s or Patriot missile batteries to Ukraine. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki clarified this after pledging to help train Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16 during a meeting of the European Political Community in Moldova yesterday, reported Polish Radio. Morawiecki reported during a press conference afterwards that he and several fellow prime ministers had talked with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was also in attendance, about plans for the training of Ukrainian pilots on U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets.

“We have agreed on a timetable for these training courses. Poland will help Ukraine train its pilots on F-16 fighters,” Morawiecki said. However, Poland had “too few” of its own F-16s to transfer any of them to Ukraine, but stressed that Warsaw had supplied Kiev with MiG-29 jets.
