Hungary’s Parliament Fails To Ratify Sweden's NATO Membership

Hungary’s ruling political party Fidesz boycotted today’s vote in the unicameral National Assembly on the ratification of Sweden’s membership in NATO, causing the measure to fail, according to various Hungarian media. Fidesz has two-thirds of the MPs in the National Assembly, so their boycott was guaranteed to condemn the vote to failure at this time, and it is reported that the ruling government does not want the vote considered before September.
