Hundreds of fishing boats converged on the Adriatic port of San Benedetto del Tronto today, to protest against the insane EU “renaturation” law, which includes a ban on trawl fishing. It will reduce catch by 35%, Coldiretti producers association head Davide Prandini said. Prandini, who was present at the protest together with Agriculture and Fishery Minister Francesco Lollobrigida, said that the measure will increase domestic prices, open the doors to cheaper imports, and ultimately destroy the national fishery industry. The paradox is that on the other side of the Adriatic Sea, fishermen do not have such regulations.
