Oliver Stone was a guest on the Russell Brand podcast, “Stay Free,” aired on July 28, and on which RT and other press reported. Stone was there primarily to discuss his new documentary, “Nuclear Now!”
Although Stone began his remarks with the “dangers of climate change"—and how nuclear energy is a key solution to that issue—he also commented on the current Ukraine-Russia conflict. Brand had asked him to comment on how the fight for energy and other resources has been a driver for many wars and conflicts.
Stone referenced his 2017 film, “Ukraine on Fire,” and blamed the current conflict in Ukraine on the “neoconservative movement who started the war in Iraq,” (and that were also behind the 2014 coup in Ukraine) and who still occupy prominent positions in Biden’s government—naming Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, and Victoria Nuland.
