Brussels is worried because exports of EU countries to Russia have continued via third countries, such as Kyrgyzstan. EU exports to Kyrgyzstan in 2022 increased by 345%, while German exports to the same country are 10 times what they were in 2019. Italian exports have increased by 178% in 2022 and by 409% between January and April of this year. Other “transit” countries are Kazakhstan, Georgia and Armenia, reported the Italian daily La Repubblica this week.
