The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory National Ignition Facility (NIF) reported a very successful fusion experiment, one that repeated their landmark December 2022 experiment, but now with an even higher energy yield. “We have continued to perform experiments to study this exciting new scientific regime. In an experiment conducted on July 30, we repeated ignition...” stated NIF spokesman Paul Rhien. While they “won’t be discussing further details” until they have conducted more analysis, they were able to state for now: “Analysis of those results is underway, but we can confirm the experiment produced a higher yield than the December test.”
