On Thursday, representatives of Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban signed agreements with domestic and foreign companies that became the largest deal ever signed since the Taliban returned to power two years ago. The $6.557 billion in contracts includes plans for seven mines, for gold, copper, lead, and iron. It will also involve some element of materials processing.
