Radio France International quotes Eastern Libya (Cyrenaica) Infrastructure minister Al Sidi saying that China will start reconstructing the city of Derna devastated by the flood. Al Sidi said that a reconstruction conference will take place Oct. 10 and that China will inaugurate reconstruction works.
“We are aware that China is today the effective power that could build bridges, infrastructure and roads in a very short time,” Sidi told RFI. He also mentioned the $30 billion dollars (€28 billion) project in Libya to build metros through China’s BFA consortium, which EIR reported earlier on.
