Following a meeting between the Anti-Defamation League’s national director Jonathan Greenblatt, and X CEO Linda Yaccarino, in which Greenblatt complained of the “rampant hate speech” on the social website X (aka Twitter), founder Elon Musk has offered support to some proposals to ban ADL from the website altogether for “stifling free speech.” Musk responded to a message which said people are done “with the ‘we’re labeling everything we don’t like as hateful/racist/dangerous/far-right’ BS,” and are no longer afraid of the ADL’s “intimidation tactics.” Musk said: “Perhaps we should run a poll on this?” Opponents of the ADL censorship launched a hashtag #BanTheADL.
