Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) has introduced language to ban funds or intelligence support to Ukraine’s neo-Nazis. His expansion of Section 8105 of the 2024 Pentagon funding bill (HR 4365, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act) would not just ban funds, but also ban the U.S. from providing intelligence to Azov Brigade. Further, it places the neo-Nazi “Russian Volunteer Corps” of Denis Nikitin next to Azov on the list.
Previously he had unsuccessfully offered an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to ban any “funding, equipment, training, fuel, or other support” to “the Russian Volunteer Corps, the Azov Battalion, or any other neo-Nazi militia” in Ukraine.
