Russia Insists International Law Against Nazism Be Upheld

Russia is warning that the revival of Nazism and its toleration in the West constitutes a violation of the body of international law established at the end of World War II through the Nuremberg Tribunal and in the founding Charter of the United Nations — a body of law which, it should be noted, patriotic Americans played a central role in establishing. To wit:

Russian Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov told TASS on Monday that the Embassy had sent a formal note to the Canadian Foreign Ministry and Prime Minister Trudeau’s office demanding clarification of the public glorification of Hunka, on the grounds that the SS, which Hunka voluntarily joined in 1943, “is recognized as a criminal organization by the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal, which are an integral part of international law. By honoring a member of this criminal community, the Canadian cabinet and members of parliament violated not only moral, but also legal norms.”
