U.S. Expands Chip Export Ban to Southwest Asia

According to Reuters, chip makers Nvidia and AMD have been informed that the export ban on their highest-quality machine-learning products (such as the Nvidia A100 and H100, which have dollar prices in the five figures) has been expanded not only to China but also to countries in Southwest Asia.

In light of the export bans instituted last year, Nvidia, AMD, and Intel have all announced the development of lower-power chips for export to the technologically blockaded nations.
