U.S. Issues Raft of Sanctions on Targets in Turkiye, U.A.E., Georgia

The Biden Administration placed sanctions on five Turkish companies and a Turkish national Sept. 14, accusing them of helping Russia evade sanctions. The targets are shipping and trade companies blamed for helping repair sanctioned vessels tied to Russia’s military, and helping the transfer of “dual-use goods.” These were part of a raft of some 150 sanctions the same day, on targets in Georgia, the U.A.E., and Russia.
