Today Ukraine celebrated its annual “Day of Military Intelligence.” President Zelensky thanked Ukrainian military intelligence officers for every result of their work and emphasized that, thanks to them, Ukraine is always several steps ahead. “Professional. Courageous. Invisible to the enemy. With you, Ukraine is always a few steps ahead. Thank you for every result! Happy Day of the Military Intelligence of Ukraine!”
Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Directorate, the GUR, headed by the infamous Kyrylo Budanov, has been at the center of sabotage, assassinations, and bombings. Zelensky celebrated today by promoting Budanov to the rank of lieutenant general. The decree to that effect, No. 564/2023, was published on the website of the head of state.
