During a visit to the Brest region yesterday, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko declared that the war in Ukraine must be stopped. He warned that the U.S. is pushing Russia towards the use of “the most terrible weapon.” He said, “I say it once again: it should be stopped, otherwise things will only get worse,” he said, reported the official BelTA news agency. “You see that the Poles are already down to seize the west of Ukraine. The Russians keep up active defense along the line (I receive daily updates on that). They are already attacking. The Ukrainians have nothing to fight with. Even if they do, they still cannot deter this overwhelming power. Therefore, it should be stopped now. Otherwise, no one will raise this topic again with the Ukrainians or the West in a few months.”
Lukashenko warned, “I am getting the impression that Americans are pushing Russians towards using the most terrible weapon…. They arm Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his army and provide long-range missiles. Even missiles able to fly for 300 km. Can you imagine that powerful missiles will be able to strike 300 km into Russian territory? Do you think the Russian President and the army will calmly watch it happen?”
