Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has launched a negotiation process with Hamas for the release of Israeli hostages kidnapped by the Palestinian militants, a Turkish official source told AFP on Oct. 11. “They are negotiating to secure the release of the hostages,” the source said, confirming a report by the private TV channel Habertürk.
Erdogan also held talks with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and with Jordan’s King Abdullah II.
Erdoğan was quoted saying that, on behalf of Türkiye, “we are ready to do everything in our power,” including mediation and “fair arbitration” to end the conflict quickly.
