At the annual press conference of Trumpf, a leading manufacturer of parts and software for the German automobile industry, the company’s CEO Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller lashed out against the Green-led Ministry of Economics for delaying permits for exporting lasers to China, she said.
Economy Minister Robert Habeck’s ministry cites capacity problems as the reason for delays, with reports that the ministry is having difficulty filling positions. “Capacity problems cannot be the answer of a ministry whose primary task is to support German companies to the best of its ability in an already difficult economic situation,” Leibinger-Kammüller angrily countered. “I don’t know of any ministry in Berlin that is understaffed.” (The CEO has to be corrected though on one crucial point: The Habeck-led ministry is not “supporting” German industry, but consciously ruining them.)
