On Day 11 of the Israeli bombing campaign against the 2.3 million residents of Gaza, a line of trucks with humanitarian aid is still parked at the southern (and only) entrance to Gaza, the Rafah crossing from Egypt. Last night and this morning, more rounds of bombs were dropped on the area. Today, when Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht was asked about the multiple bombings of the Rafah crossing point, he simply gave the intentionally implausible response: “When we see Hamas targets moving, we will take care of it.”

CNN reported that the latest airstrikes were about 1 kilometer from the crossing. One of their stringers sent in video, shot from the Egyptian side of the crossing, showing plumes of smoke rising beyond the main gate. The stringer said: “Two airstrikes struck 15 minutes apart around 1 kilometer away from the Rafah crossing. Loud sounds of airstrikes have been heard every 30 minutes since Tuesday at 4 a.m.” Hamas claims that Israeli airstrikes early today killed at least 28 people.
