This evening in New York City, the Jewish Voice for Peace group has staged a major protest action inside Grand Central Station, calling for a ceasefire by Gaza and Israel. Their rally filled the vast main terminal. Timed with the commuter rush hour, thousands of protesters staged a massive sit-in.
Among the chants were, “No more weapons, no more war. Ceasefire is what we’re fighting for.” Banners were dropped down from the top of the main staircases of the terminal, and hung up over the ticket counters by demonstrators. Many of the protesters wore black tee shirts saying, “Jews Say Cease Fire Now.”
