Israel imposed blackout on all internet and telephone communications from Gaza on Friday, Oct. 27, right as they were beginning an increased air and ground assault on the territory. Shortly thereafter, calls were made for Elon Musk to open his satellite-based Starlink internet system to Gaza, which otherwise would have little connection with the outside world.

Musk responded favorably on his X account today, replying to a question by saying: “SpaceX will support communication links with internationally recognized aid organizations,” while also qualifying that “No terminals from Gaza have attempted to communicate with our constellation.”
