Putin Asserts Talk of War with Russia and China Simultaneously Is Insane

TASS reported on a very short exchange today between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the host of the television program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin.” in he asked Putin to comment on a recent recommendation “by a U.S. Congress panel for the U.S. to prepare for possible simultaneous wars with Russia and China that could include the engagement of nuclear weapons,” referring to “America’s Strategic Posture,” issued this week by the Congressional Commission on the Strategic Posture of the United States, as EIRNS reported yesterday.

Putin replied: “’I don’t think this thought should or can occur to people in their right mind. But if it does, it only makes us wary…. It’s nonsense, of course. I don’t think it’s at all serious. I think they are just scaring each other.’” TASS noted that he underscored that “a war between nuclear powers would be very much unlike the Russian special military operation or the conflict in the Middle East, so no one should even think about it.”
