As TASS reports, Yury Borisov, director general of Russia’s space agency Roscosmos, said today that members of the BRICS group of nations and other countries are interested in Russia’s Sfera project. It seeks to launch satellites for communications and the remote sensing of the Earth. According to former Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin, the program will create five satellite constellations for telecom services and five more for remote sensing. The first satellite under the program, the Skif-D, was launched on Oct. 22, 2022.
