Russia Building 22 Nuclear Power Stations Overseas

President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the plenary session of the annual Russian Energy Week, said that state nuclear operator Rosatom is currently building 22 power units overseas, equivalent to 80% of the world market. He explained that the Rosatom project in Egypt, the fourth unit of the El-Dabaa nuclear plant, “is being completed earlier than expected. This is our flagship project on the African continent,” adding that Moscow is “starting from scratch to create an entire industry with our Egyptian friends, Egyptian specialists.”
