Schiller Institute UN Liaison Richard Black has been in Minsk, Belarus, participating in a two-day conference on Eurasian security, where he presented a paper reviewing the historical perspective and role of Lyndon LaRouche to this purpose.
Black gave several interviews on the sidelines. TASS ran a story in both English and Russian Oct. 26, “Expert Calls for Reforming the UN To Prevent World War III—U.S. Expert.” It quoted Black on the United Nations and assertion of new strategic leadership, “‘Foreign Minister Lavrov of Russia is correct in calling it a new majority, a new majority of gigantic nations like Indonesia, like Brazil, like South Africa, like India,’ the U.S. expert said….
“‘The name of peace, the substance of peace is economic development. No political treaty will last, no agreement will hold unless there is mutual economic development among various nations,” he said.
“In his words, U.S. diplomats are now ‘speaking to leading diplomats at the UN, saying “you must upshift the quality, upshift what the UN is capable of doing.”’...
