President Joe Biden signed into law yesterday a temporary spending bill that keeps parts of the federal government open until Jan. 19, 2024, and the rest of it open until Feb. 2, 2024. The bill had been passed by the Senate on Nov. 15 by a vote of 87-11 and, the day before, by the House, 336- 95. Of note, the bill passed does not include the $106 billion war budget that President Joe Biden had demanded on Oct. 10. The Associated Press speculated that lawmakers are likely to turn to that after the Thanksgiving holiday.
