Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received CIA Director William Burns yesterday in Cairo to discuss the Israeli war on Gaza, according to Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy. In the meeting, President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s position for an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians and facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid without hindrance.

Burns reported that the U.S. would continue coordinating with Egypt to resolve the ongoing crisis.

The day before, Nov. 6, Burns had been in Israel, where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Mossad Chief David Barnea. The only thing reported is that he discussed the situation concerning the hostages.
