The semi-official Chinese daily Global Times published an article on Nov. 27 which provided Chinese responses to U.S. Army Pacific commander Gen. Charles Flynn’s report to the Halifax International Security Forum Nov. 18 that the U.S. was placing land-based intermediate-range missiles in the Indo-Pacific theater. Global Times cited one analyst, Song, to effect that this was a provocation which could lead to escalation.
