The Russian Defense Ministry sent two special flights to deliver around 40 metric tons of humanitarian cargo to Afghanistan, TASS reported on Nov. 11. The aid was to help victims of a recent earthquake in Herat. Al Jazeera reported that Herat province was hit with a magnitude 6.3 earthquake on Nov. 12, its third since powerful quakes on Oct. 8 killed more than 2,000 people.
