We live in a downside-up political universe, where, for example, a vicious Banderist regime in Ukraine that bans a dozen opposition parties, jails nonviolent dissidents, maintains an active assassination bureau against foreign and domestic adversaries, and now cancels elections altogether, can be lauded as a veritable citadel of democracy; where leaders of the formerly colonized nations are subjected to endless, pious lectures on humans rights and good governance by Western heads of state whose active participation in regime-change warfare, coups, and other depredations qualifies them as the biggest mass murderers and liars on the planet; and where today’s popular culture, which truly makes biblical Sodom and Gomorrah seem a paragon of Puritan virtue in comparison, is presented as the quintessential expression of the freedom fought for by our American forbearers from Valley Forge to Selma, Alabama.
Orwell’s Big Brother, who infamously decreed that “War is Peace,” was a piker relative to our present-day propagators of inverted reality!
Totally consistent with this stand-on-your-head worldview, is the just plain silly depiction of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith as a benign Jewish civil rights organization, dedicated to combating anti-Semitism and hatred in service of the brotherhood of humanity. Here is not the place to recount the actual sordid history of the ADL’s multifaceted ties to organized crime, its despicable role in spying on labor and civil rights organizations in cahoots with the FBI, or its long partnership with the apartheid government in South Africa. All of that, and much more, has been documented in LaRouche publications going back many years. Readers would be well-advised to avail themselves of that material.
What’s new is that today’s political and strategic crisis is causing the ADL’s leaders, along with others, to debase, degrade, and expose themselves in a more obvious way than ever before. For years, they tried to pin the scarlet letter “A” (for “Anti-Semite”) on Lyndon LaRouche, using as their pretext his sharp criticisms of the Israeli governments of Shamir and Sharon. But when the 2014 Maidan coup in Ukraine brought to power the political heirs of the bona fide, blood-on-his-hands Jew-killer, 1940s Hitler ally Stepan Bandera, the ADL suddenly developed a severe case of political amnesia. It would not be unfair in the slightest to characterize their response as: “Nazis?! What Nazis? Do you see Nazis? I don’t see any Nazis!”
Former ADL National Director Abe Foxman even quipped that there was no more fascism in the Kiev government than there was in the Occupy Wall Street movement! Other ADL officials admonished the public not to get too worked up at the sight of “funny armbands” (swastikas and other Nazi insignia) displayed by military and police personnel in Ukraine! Those “funny armbands” must have evoked gales of laughter in the countries conquered by Hitler during the war!
Earlier this year, the Speaker of the Canadian Parliament introduced to that assembled body a 98-year-old Ukrainian immigrant, who was described as a heroic fighter against Russia in World War II. He received a thunderous ovation from the entire room, including from visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. No one evinced the slightest recognition of just who was fighting Russia in that conflict, until it came out days later that—surprise!—the “venerable veteran” was a member of the Galician division of the Waffen SS, the elite unit of hardened Nazi-ideologue soldiers who perpetrated unspeakable atrocities against Jews and Poles in German-occupied Ukraine!
The Speaker resigned, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a pathetic attempt at damage control, and the Anti-Defamation League, that ever-vigilant watchdog against Nazism and hatred, rushed in with the following courageous, eloquent, and absolutely magnificent statement:
(If you didn’t catch every word that appeared after the colon in the above paragraph, please re-read it.)
So, having tried, clumsily, to cover the tracks of actual Nazis and hate-mongers, the ADL nonetheless has discovered a new threat to our way of life. What is this looming evil that must be extirpated lest it poison us all? Why, it’s the sight of young Jewish Americans protesting the genocidal scorched-earth attack on Gaza by the Israel Defense Forces! Clearly, anyone, especially of Hebrew descent, who objects to Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu’s collective punishment and indiscriminate vengeance masquerading as self-defense, is, ipso facto, anti-Zionist, anti-Semitic, and probably a secret Hamas agent, say our intrepid ADLers. What an incredible self-incriminating display!
In response, The LaRouche Organization has two messages.
To the ADL and its minions: Keep up the bad work! Seriously, every time you open your mouths nowadays, you help us to reveal what we’ve known you to have been all along—a hit squad for the London-Wall Street financial oligarchy, nothing more. Please continue that assistance.
But the second, perhaps more important message is to our would-could-should-be allies, activists, and others: Have you been taken in by the ADL? For years, many who have been attracted to the power of Lyndon LaRouche’s ideas, have still kept an arm’s-length away, or even run in the opposite direction. Often enough, such individuals cannot even articulate what is causing their unease. We’re here to help you.
The Anti-Defamation League has spent untold millions over decades, playing a leading role in creating a wall of political containment around the LaRouche political movement. It’s unfortunately true that our adversaries sometimes possess a keener sense of the potential of the LaRouche policy-solutions in a crisis, than do our friends. But now, they have massively discredited themselves. Isn’t it about time that you recognize that new reality and plunge in wholeheartedly with our fight for replacing global disaster with global development?
The ADL’s decades-long attack on the LaRouche movement was intended, of course, as a mark of shame. However, considering especially their recent behavior, we wear it as a badge of honor.
