Farmers Again Protest German Austerity in Major Koblenz Rally

On Friday evening, Dec. 22, farmers again protested around Koblenz against the Federal government’s austerity plans. Around 1,100 farmers took to the streets with tractors. The Koblenz city council had expected up to 300 demonstrators with tractors. However, Koblenz police estimated afterward that evening that there had been more than 1,100 people with tractors. The farmers had come into Koblenz from both the right and the left banks of the Rhine.
