A heated budget meeting in a Ukrainian village turned violent when Serhiy Batryn, reportedly aligned with President Zelenskyy’s Servant of the People party, dropped hand grenades during the meeting, injuring 26 people. The attack occurred in Keretsky, near the Hungarian border. Batryn, reportedly in conflict with the village chief over budget provisions, including a pay raise for the chief, disrupted the meeting by detonating grenades. The chaos and injuries were captured on video, with police confirming 26 wounded, 6 critically. The incident is being investigated by Ukraine’s Security Service and raises concerns about the proliferation of weapons amid the NATO-Russia conflict playing out in Ukraine.
