China Holds Year-End Conference Summarizing Year’s Achievements of Chinese Diplomacy

On December 27-28, the Chinese government held a Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs. This was attended by General Secretary Xi Jinping and members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, but also by major officials of provinces, autonomous region, and municipalities directly under the Central Government as well as relevant departments of the Central Military Commission and representatives of financial institutions under the direct management of the Central Government.

Xi Jinping gave a summary of the successes of Chinese foreign policy since the 18th CPC Party Congress in 2012. He noted that China has established Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy as a guiding light, showcased distinct Chinese characteristics in its diplomacy, advocated the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, which has been widely accepted by the international community, practiced strategic guidance through heads-of-state diplomacy, and taken an active part in global governance.
