Farm Tractorcades in Germany Continue

Following the big national farmers’ protest ally in Berlin Dec. 18, which included the participation of 1,700 on tractors, protests against the government’s plan to cut subsidies for diesel fuel are continuing in several parts of Germany, with tractorcades blocking highway access roads in the states of Saxony, Saxe-Anhalt, and Thuringia this morning. As Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk reports, the areas of Dresden and Zwickau were particular targets of blockades. These actions are carried out by the “Country Creates Connection” organization of farmers, an activist initiative independent from the German Farmers’ Association, DBV.
