Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was in Qatar on Dec. 6 to coordinate policies concerning the war on Gaza. His visit was official, and he was met by Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and attended the 9th meeting of the Türkiye-Qatar High-Level Strategic Committee and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit. The meeting followed reports suggesting that Israel is considering targeted assassinating Hamas members who reside outside the Palestinian territories, including in Türkiye. Talking to reporters on Dec. 7 following his return, Erdogan stated that both Türkiye and Qatar would collaborate for a lasting peace in Southwest Asia.
