On Dec. 23, Iran hosted a conference in Tehran to rally support for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, reported the Xinhua News Agency. The Tehran International Conference on Palestine sought to pressure the West to ensure humanitarian aid would reach the populations under attack.
Leading up to the conference, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani noted: “This conference is being held with the aim of boosting international support for the oppressed Palestinian nation in Gaza and the West Bank increasing pressure on the Zionist regime to completely stop its military strikes against Gaza and fully lift its siege on the enclave and also giving fresh impetus to the dispatch of international humanitarian aid to Palestinian people.”
