After footage and news flooded the internet on Dec. 7-8 of hundreds of nearly-naked men under the control of Israeli soldiers, an Israeli government spokesman confirmed these were indeed the actions of the Israel Defense Forces. “We’re talking about military-age men who were discovered in areas that civilians were supposed to have evacuated weeks ago,” Israeli government spokesman Eylon Levy said on Dec. 8. “Those individuals will be questioned and we will work out who indeed was a Hamas terrorist and who is not.”
In October, the IDF had ordered residents to evacuate, warning that any who stayed may be considered a partner of terrorist organizations.
