North Korean leader Kim Jong Uun has called for stepped-up war preparations, saying during the second day of the plenary meeting of the Workers’ Party yesterday that the United States is engaged in “unprecedented” acts of confrontation against the country, state media reported Dec. 28. “He set forth the militant tasks for the People’s Army and the munitions industry, nuclear weapons and civil defense sectors to further accelerate the war preparations,” the KCNA said in an English-language dispatch, reported Yonhap. He said the security situation on the Korean Peninsula has become unprecedentedly grave due to anti-North Korea confrontation moves by the U.S. and its followers.
