Poll Shows Saudis Overwhelmingly Want Diplomatic Break with Israel over Gaza, but Support Eventual Political Negotiations

According to a poll conducted by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, an overwhelming majority (96%) of Saudis surveyed support the view that “Arab countries should immediately break all diplomatic, political, economic, and any other contacts with Israel, in protest against its military action in Gaza.”

The WINEP poll, conducted over the period of Nov. 14 to Dec. 6, also found 91% support for this statement: “Despite the destruction and loss of life, this war in Gaza is a win for the Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims.”

Most people surveyed had a negative view of Hamas overall, and an even more negative view of Hezbollah.
