An ABC News report from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), which is preliminary for 2022, shows that life expectancy at birth, for all Americans, rose from 76.4 to 77.5 years. This increase of 1.1 years made up only half of the lost life expectancy of 2020-21 (in 2019 it was 78.8 years).
