State Department Evades Congress, OKs Another ‘Emergency’ Arms Shipment to Israel

The State Department announced yesterday that the U.S. will be sending an emergency shipment of munitions, this time components for 155mm artillery shells worth $147 million. By designating it “emergency,” the shipment bypasses Congressional review. The administration had sent a shipment of 120mm tank shells to Israel by the same means on Dec. 9.
