Former British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn called on the British government to support the charge of genocide committed by Israel, which has been filed by South Africa in the International Court of Justice. Corbyn will appear for South Africa before the ICJ at The Hague on Jan. 11 as one of several senior political figures. South African authorities have not mentioned the names of the others.
“Every day, another unspeakable atrocity is committed in Gaza. Millions of people around the world support South Africa’s efforts to hold Israel to account. Why can’t our government?” Corbyn wrote on X on Jan. 8 after speaking in Parliament.
