Germany’s CSU Leader Says Give Ukraine ‘New Courage’ with Taurus Missiles

In Germany, Christian Social Union leader, Bavaria Minister President Markus Söder is calling on the government to hand over Taurus missiles to the Ukraine regime. After obtaining such weapons, Kiev “will be able to repel constant drone and missile attacks,” he claimed, speaking at the land party meeting in Bavaria, reported TASS. The Swedish-German Taurus airborne missile has a range of over 500 km, giving Ukraine the possibility of firing into Russian territory.

Söder is not the first German politician to make this proposal, although Chancellor Olaf Scholz has not been willing to go so far, perhaps fearing that this would allow Ukraine to bring the war to Russia. Some of the German supporters of the move have even been encouraging in that respect.
