German farmers protest in Maintz: “Your politics are destroying German agriculture.” EIRNS/Christopher Lewis

Here is a partial account of what happened on Wednesday, Jan. 10, the third day of the German farmers’ protest.

Bremen: Farmers blocked all roads to the port, which was inactive for several hours. Ships could not leave the port because they were waiting to be loaded. The protest ended at noon, in order not to provoke too much inconvenience, farmers said.

Saxony: 500 tractors marched on the city of Plauen.

Brandenburg: Over 70 highway on-ramps were blocked. Police reported major traffic jams.
