Gov. Greg Abbott Issues Reassurance against a Repeat of 2021 Texas Freeze

In February 2021, Texans and neighboring states experienced widespread, prolonged power outages because its electricity system was so insufficient, especially due to the shift over to more wind and solar. Yesterday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott held a press briefing to reassure Texans that a repeat mass black out is unlikely, claiming that his administration and state lawmakers have put in place contingency measures.
