Chinese Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui will pay an official visit to Moscow as the first leg of a tour that will take him to Ukraine, EU headquarters in Brussels, Poland, Germany and France. In her regular briefing today, China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning responded to a query from TASS: “The protraction of the Ukraine crisis does not serve the common interest of the international community. The main objective of the upcoming round of shuttle diplomacy is to build consensus for ceasefire and pave the way for peace talks. China stands ready to continue to play its role and contribute China’s wisdom to seeking a political settlement of the Ukraine crisis.
This is Li’s second round of visits on this peace mission, the first in May last year, when he had carried out a Ukraine peace mission, visiting Kiev, Warsaw, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, and Moscow.
