Farmers Enraged over Attacks in Greens’ New Childrens' Book

The Bavarian Farmers Association has denounced a book by leading actor and entertainer Anke Engelke, who wrote a reinterpretation of Bunny School. In it, the fox is not the natural enemy of the bunnies, but is a completely harmless vegan. The farmers are the alleged enemies of the bunny. Fertilizers, pesticides, combine harvesters—the book portrays advanced agriculture as dangerous and harmful to the environment. During their protests farmers have repeatedly denounced the farmer-bashing that takes place in schools, where farmers’ children are attacked as alleged “killers of nature.”
