Greek Farmers Ignore Prime Minister's Warnings against Protests

Greek farmers have ignored warnings by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis that if the farmers continued blocking roads he would not hold the meeting with them scheduled for Feb. 13. Roadblocks continue on roads and highways in agricultural regions of Macedonia and Thessaly, in northern Greece, while the main Athens-Thessaloniki highway has been blocked at Malgara. Protests also took place in the agricultural cities of Larisa and Karditsa. Farmers symbolically placed hay bales in the streets and dumped milk, while displaying banners and flares and chanting slogans.
