Italian Deputy Prime Minister, and leader of the Lega, Matteo Salvini, in the face of the frenzied rush to judgment over the death of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, stated to journalists: “It is right, we must make clarity. There is a dead man and we must absolutely make clarity. But it is doctors and judges, neither myself nor others, are those who make clarity.”
He continued by bringing matters down to Earth: “Rarely I succeed in understanding in real time what occurs in Italy. If his wife says that he was poisoned, there might be elements; I imagine something will come out. How can I judge what happens on the other side of the world?”
