Leader of ‘Take Back Our Border’ Out To ‘Find, Fix, and Finish’ the Bad Guys

Lt. Col. Pete Chambers, a former Green Beret, described on Alex Jones’ InfoWars broadcast on Jan. 25, according to Wired’s account](, his “Take Back Our Border” (TBOB) convoy: “What gets us to the enemy quickly is find, fix, and finish. That’s what we did in Syria when we took out ISIS really quick. Now we don’t have the authorities to finish, so what we can do is fix the location of where the bad guys are and pair up with law enforcement who are constitutionally sound.” Chambers told Jones how he was planning to use the same techniques he claims he used while in the U.S. military fighting the Islamic State, to target migrants crossing the border. He described the effort as “domestic internal defense.”

The main TBOB channel has over 1,000 members, though only 20 vehicles showed up for the departure of the main convoy from Norfolk, Virginia on Jan. 29. They travelled to Jacksonville, Florida, and Denham Springs, Louisiana, on their way to Eagle Pass, Texas. There are rallies planned in San Ysidro, California, and Yuma, Arizona.

The administrators of the Telegram group and the convoy’s website are careful to say it will be a peaceful protest and that only “law-abiding citizens” are welcome. While that may be laudable, the convoy’s website makes a special call for “all active and retired law enforcement and military veterans” to join in. Of some note, Chambers said that one of the stops on the convoy will be the One Shot Distillery and Brewery in Dripping Springs, Texas, which is owned by Phil Waldron, a former army colonel, cited as involved with the January 6, 2021 actions.
