Malaysia Rejects U.S. Demands Regarding Relations with China

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, in an interview in Britain’s Financial Times, was given a baited question challenging the country’s relations with China. He responded with a strong rejection: “Why must I be tied to one interest? I don’t buy into this strong prejudice against China, this China-phobia.... We are a small country struggling to survive in a complex world … I want to focus on what is best for us.”
